I paid about $160.00 for the book and decided to I put the book up for sale. It was listed as a "like" new book with no writing or highlighting in the book. I asked for $100.00 for the book It was purchased about a week after I listed on the website. I mailed the book and thought that was it. Well, a few days ago (approx. 2 wks after it was purchased) I received an e-mail that the buyer was no satisfied with the condition of the book. She stated that the book was not in "like new" condition, it was dirty, worn, torn and that I had not wrapped it properly for shipping. She also stated that the book had been damaged during shipping.
I was shocked. I've mailed many textbooks and no one has ever complained about the packaging I used to mail books. I alway used the heavy duty packaging envelopes. Those envelopes are hard to damage. As for the book I told the buyer that I'd never used the book and I saw no damage when I mailed it to her. I also told her that I had no control over the postal service. So, if the book was damaged in shipping it was something I couldn't control.
I did tell her that if she was that displeased with her purchase and if she felt that the book was not as I described it she could contact website customer service and we could go through the process of returning the book and reimbursing her the money she paid for the book.
I'm concerned that she has had the book long enough to make several copies of it. It is a loose leaf book it would be simple to make copies, place it back in the three prong folders and send it back to me. I have learned a lesson from this experience. From this point forward I intend to take photographs of any textbook that I mail. If anyone ever states that the book was not in the condition that was stated I want to be able to show dated pictures of the condition of the book when I placed it in the mail.
I haven't heard from the buyers since I told her to contact customer service to make arrangements to cancel the purchase. I've had a few online mishaps, but certainly nothing like this!

Dear MoveOn member,
On December 23, 2011, my goddaughter, Jasmine Thar, a 16-year-old African American, was shot and killed while in my mother's front yard in Chadbourn, North Carolina.
When the shot rang out, Jasmine was preparing for a routine shopping trip and doing what most teens do—texting. Two others, my niece and myself, were also injured in the shooting.
The 23-year-old Caucasian male who fired the fatal shot from the house across the street was taken in for questioning, but he has not been charged with a crime of any kind.
Because he claims it was an accident, the police let him go—despite the fact that he admits he fired the shot and police found a Confederate flag and Nazi literature in his home.
The message being sent is that you can shoot and kill someone like Jasmine and get away with it by simply claiming it was an accident. That can't be the world we live in.
That's why we created a petition on SignOn.org to District Attorney Jon David, Attorney General Roy Cooper, and Assistant District Attorney Chris Gentry. The petition says:
We demand justice for Jasmine Thar, who was shot and killed. Three months after the shooting we still have no answers. We urge you to sign this petition to demand a lawful, thorough, and unprejudiced investigation from the SBI and sound judicial decisions from Columbus County District Attorney Jon David and ADA Chris Gentry.
Will you sign the petition? Click here to add your name, and then pass it along to your friends:
Thank you.

I kow a lot of people talk about how much they love weddings, but I don't. It's not that I hate weddings it just that I sometimes don't feel up to participating in all the parties and events leading up to the wedding. II really hate tryijng to pick out the perfect engagement gift and wedding present. Even with gift registry if the person is registered in different places and selects some of the same items at both places I'm usually the person that picks a gift that the person has already received. Then it is dealing with the moodiness of bride and bride groom to be. As much as I love the actual wedding, I can certainly do without the drama that comes before the I do's. Well, at least I get cake and champagne and when it is over.

A couple of days ago I read an article that said the judges for the Oscars were Rich, White, Male with an average age of 62 years old. Hardly a diverse group of judges. Therefore, I rest my case.
